Dr Stephen Byfield graduated from the Royal London Hospital
Bachelor of Dental Surgery 1981. Following a 5-year short
service commission in the Royal Army Dental Corps he joined
general dental practice in 1987 Ripon North Yorkshire.
He developed an interest in implant dentistry in
1993. He has attended many implant training courses in
the UK, Europe and America developing his skills and increasing
the complexity of his cases. |
During 1995 – 1997 he attended courses and developed
skills in advanced restorative dentistry.
1997 he gained by examination his Membership of Faculty General
Dental Practice UK. 2002 he was made a fellow of the International
College of Dentists.
During 2001 he left private general dental practice to establish
a private implant based referral practice in Harrogate. The
practice was developed to support general dental practitioners
in aspects of implant based reconstructive dentistry, which
was outside the field of their own practice.
The practice now has over 100 referring dentists who refer
cases for all aspects of implant-based care
Dr Byfield regularly lectures within the UK on aspects of implantology.
